BBW dating in the UK: the honest options

Updated October 19, 2026Curvy Match editorial teamHow we rate

Short answer

For a serious relationship in the UK, eharmony's free Basic account is the easiest place to start, with a big general pool and a compatibility quiz. WooPlus is the main curvy-specific app, with VIP plans from £9.99 on the UK App Store. Whatever you use, UK police received 10,784 romance fraud reports in 2025, so keep chats on the app and never send money.

The short version

The UK has no large, British-run BBW dating site. Your realistic choices are a mainstream relationship site that lets you be yourself, or an international curvy app with UK members. We checked prices and reviews in October 2026.

eharmony UK

eharmony is not a curvy site, and that can be an advantage. You join a large general pool of people who signed up for a relationship, and the compatibility quiz matches on values rather than body type. That tends to filter out men who are there for a fetish.

The Basic account is free with no time limit and lets you take the quiz, build a profile and see matches. Messaging is limited until you upgrade. eharmony UK shows Premium prices only once you are logged in, and its own pricing page mentions plan lengths from 3 to 24 months. Check the renewal date the day you pay.

WooPlus

WooPlus is built for plus-size singles and the people who want to date them. It is free to download. The UK App Store listing shows VIP memberships at £9.99, £13.49, £18.49, £19.99 and £26.49, plus “Diamond” packs from £0.99 to £19.99. The listing does not say which VIP price matches which duration, so read the screen carefully before you confirm.

Reviews are mixed. The app has 4.4 stars from about 4,100 ratings on the UK App Store, while Trustpilot sits at 1.5 from 47 reviews, mostly about scam profiles, matches pushing chats off the app and charges after cancelling.

BBWCupid

BBWCupid is run by Cupid Media and has an international member base. Sign-up is free. Paid tiers (Gold and Platinum) are priced on the site after you register, and we could not confirm current pound prices from a public page, so we do not list them here.

On Trustpilot it scored 1.8 from 294 reviews when we checked. Positive reviews exist, but the negative ones repeat the same points: fake or scripted profiles, requests for gift cards, and auto-renewal at the full price if you forget to cancel.

Subscriptions and your rights

Most of the consumer rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 have applied since April 2025, and the CMA can now fine businesses directly for breaches such as fake reviews. The Act's separate subscription rules, which will require renewal reminders and easy one-step cancellation, are not in force yet. The government now expects them in spring 2027.

Until then, set a calendar reminder two days before any renewal date and cancel in the app store if you subscribed there. For a specific dispute, Citizens Advice is the place to start.

Romance fraud in the UK

City of London Police reported that 10,784 romance fraud reports were made in 2025, up 29% on 2024, with losses above £102 million and an average loss of about £9,500. Fraudsters increasingly use AI-generated photos and fake crypto investment schemes.

In December 2025 Action Fraud was replaced by Report Fraud, run by City of London Police. Report at reportfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040 if you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. In Scotland, contact Police Scotland on 101. Call your bank straight away if you have sent money.

Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met in person, however good the reason sounds.
